Telegram bot and mini app
Your own bot: menu, orders and notifications inside Telegram.
- 1In Telegram message @BotFather → /newbot → give a name and a username.
- 2Copy the token BotFather gives you.
- 3Paste it into Settings → Telegram in the panel.
- 4Press Check connection — the bot's name fills itself in, and the mini app link is built from it.
⚠Check connection is the main button on the page: a dead bot's token differs from a working one only when the first guest tries to open it.
⚠The bot token is a secret. A leaked token is not «money in somebody else's account»: it is the ability to write to every guest who ever opened the mini app, as the restaurant.
The mini app
The menu, opened inside Telegram. The guest is signed in automatically from their Telegram account — no SMS code.
Telegram does not hand over a phone number, only a name. So the mini app asks for the number before checkout: asking at the confirm step loses an order that had already been won.
The bot sends order statuses, and unlike SMS that is free. If half your customers move to the bot, the SMS bill drops noticeably.
