Browser notifications (push)

A free channel: the customer gets a message without visiting the site.

If a customer has allowed notifications on the site, order statuses and campaigns reach them. Unlike SMS, this is free.

Nothing needs configuring: the keys are generated on first use and never rotated — every subscription is bound to the key it was created with.

⚠On iPhone, push only works if the site has been «added to the home screen». That is an Apple restriction, not a setting.
