The financial report and the cash drawer
Where the money came from and where it went — and why this is not a profit report.

⚠The financial report is NOT a profit report, and it says so itself. With an uncosted menu, «in minus out» is cash movement, not profit. Read as profit, it overstates it by the entire cost of the food.
- Discounts and points are not expenses: the money did not leave, it never arrived.
- A courier handing in cash is not an expense: it is collected cash arriving in the till.
- A transfer is not an expense: value is carried, not created.
Cash from deliveries reaches the till after the courier hands it in. Money held by couriers is shown separately — anybody investigating a shortfall asks for that figure first.
